Even though the reservoirs of the district have been filled due to heavy rains, the people of Jalgaon are not getting water to drink, so there is an outcry in the district regarding drinking water. The residents of Jalgaon are not getting drinking water. It is being said that if the people of Jalgaon are not getting drinking water, then the mismanagement of Mahavitaran and Municipal Corporation is responsible for this.

The water supply in the city has come to a standstill due to disruption of the arrangement on the Waghur scheme due to a breakdown of the Mahavitaran cable somewhere near Kusumba. No prior information was given by the Jalgaon Municipal Corporation about the water supply being stopped in the city. That’s why citizens spent a lot of time waiting for water to come, even after that people did not get drinking water. People are angry due to lack of water. The reason for the interruption of water supply is being told that the cable supplying electricity to the Waghur water supply scheme has been damaged. On Thursday, after knowing about the fault in the cable, the Mahavitaran system could not detect the exact location of the fault even after two days, due to which people are facing problems for drinking water.

Although the repair work was started by the employees of Mahavitaran, but still the problem of drinking water was not resolved. Work is underway to rectify the fault in the cable, but it is being interrupted due to rain. While repairs are expected in five-six hours, it may take more time due to rain. The water supply will resume after a period of seven to eight hours after the cable is fixed, but no one is ready to tell when the drinking water supply will be restored properly.
The main cable supplying power to the Waghur system has failed. Repair work is going on and once power supply is restored, water supply will be restored by pumping on war footing. However, it is not possible to say how long it will take.
