First understand from where did the talk of Third Front arise?
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav is running angry since the assembly elections. He has announced that now he will not come with Akhilesh. Shivpal is busy making new equations. Along with strengthening his party, he is also trying to bring other smaller parties along.

Om Prakash Rajbhar, who was part of the SP alliance in the 2022 assembly elections, is angry with Akhilesh after the alliance broke up. His party Suheldev is a stampede in Indian society. One after the other, more than 300 national, state and regional leaders have left the support of OP Rajbhar. Rajbhar is telling the reason for this stampede to Akhilesh. Rajbhar has even said that he will soon teach a lesson to Akhilesh Yadav.

It is being said that Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad may also join the Third Front. Chandrashekhar also accused Akhilesh Yadav of cheating during the UP assembly elections. Chandrashekhar had said that Akhilesh is against Dalits. Good relations are said to be between Chandrashekhar and Om Prakash Rajbhar.

So who will join the Third Front?
To understand this, we spoke to senior journalist Pramod Kumar Singh. “There are two years left for the Lok Sabha elections to be held now. As the elections approach, the talk of alliance and front becomes more clear. However, seeing the situation prevailing now, it seems that Shivpal Singh Yadav, Om Prakash Rajbhar, Chandrashekhar can contest the elections together. They can also get the support of AIMIM. These four can also bring some other small parties with them.

Pramod says, ‘Though these parties uniting against Akhilesh Yadav and BJP do not have a big support base, but their caste and religious equations are strong. Chandrashekhar has Dalit voters. Chandrashekhar is more popular among Dalit youth. Similarly, Om Prakash Rajbhar has the vote bank of Rajbhar, Maurya and some other backward castes. With the help of Shivpal Singh Yadav, to some extent, Yadav voters can come with a third front. At the same time, if AIMIM is also supported, then Muslims at large can join this front.

Who benefits and who loses?
Pramod says, ‘If AIMIM, PSP, Bhim Army, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party fight together, then Akhilesh Yadav will have to bear the maximum loss. There will be a split between Akhilesh Yadav’s core Yadav and Muslim voters. Apart from this, other backward castes will also be scattered. This may come as a blow to the Samajwadi Party. The Bahujan Samaj Party may also have to suffer due to the Third Front. At the same time, BJP can benefit from the Third Front.
