When Prince Charles came to see the Taj Mahal in the year 1980, he too was photographed sitting on the same marble seat on the Central Tank in the Taj Mahal, on which his wife Diana in 1992. Later, the same seat came to be known as Diana seat.
Prince Charles married Diana in 1981, just a year after visiting the Taj Mahal. Princess Diana came to the Taj Mahal in 1992, but without Charles. Diana felt this loneliness in the Taj very much and it was only after the Taj tour that the talk of Diana’s separation from the Prince started.
