Children’s toys were broken and scattered, then utensils, bicycles were buried in the rubble and became junk. The clothes, katharis, tarpaulins were in a torn condition. The ration was buried under the bricks. These were the only traces of the ruined household amidst the rain and mud. One could feel the cries of the laborers buried under the wall, who were buried in the rain and who could not get help in time. The picture of the dying girl, her mother and father was seen spinning in front of her eyes. A similar scene was seen on the spot on Friday after the wall collapse in Dilkusha. Amidst the rain, the team of ‘Amar Ujala’ reached the spot, where the households of the laborers were scattered. Due to heavy rains, a part of the 50 feet wall of the Gaur Conclave of Army Officers in Dilkusha collapsed on Thursday midnight, under which the workers and their families were buried.

By the time help arrived, many had died. Those who survived were admitted to the Civil Hospital. Nine people died in the accident, including three children.

According to the information, the laborers living in Jhansi were staying there only to repair the wall of Gaur Conclave. They had built houses adjacent to the wall with plastic sheds, tarpaulins and bamboo. Some huts were built across the road away from the wall, in which the occupants survived the accident.

…so the accident happened

There is a forest on the other side too. On Thursday, due to heavy rains, the soil became silty and the accident happened due to the collapse of the wall. The foundation of the wall was very deep.
