Dance artist Sapna Choudhary remained in custody for nearly two hours on Monday in a case of non-refund of ticket money by canceling her program. The court terminated the arrest warrant of Sapna on the condition that in future she would cooperate by appearing in the hearing. Sapna appeared with her lawyer today in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Shantanu Tyagi, on which she was taken into ‘court custody’. During this she remained in custody for about two hours.

Sapna claimed in the application filed on Monday that the hearing of the case was held on August 22, but due to illness, neither he himself nor his lawyer could appear in the court and there was no intention to do whatever happened. The arrest warrant should be withdrawn. The court then withdrew the warrant and fixed September 30 as the next date of hearing in the case.

According to the case, on October 14, 2018, Inspector Firoz Khan had registered a case against Sapna at Ashiana police station. According to the lawsuit, on October 13, the program of Sapna Chaudhary was to be held in Smriti Upvan, Lucknow. Thousands of tickets were sold for this event. When Sapna did not come to the show till late night, the crowd started a ruckus and despite this the organizers did not refund the ticket money.

The organizers of the event Naveen Sharma, Amit Pandey, Junaid Ahmed, Ratnakar Upadhyay and Iwad Ali are also accused in this case. An arrest warrant was issued against Sapna on 17 November 2021 for not appearing in the court in this case. After that on November 23, Sapna had requested for cancellation of the warrant, which was rejected by the court. After that, on May 10, Sapna surrendered in the court, after which she got interim bail. A notice was sent to him when he did not appear again. Arrest warrant was issued against him for not appearing in court despite notice.
