Now 2 new cases have been registered. In this, Arif Rangoonwala, father of Haris and Jain Rangoonwala, has also been made an accused.
It is said that the Rangoonwala family demanded a ransom of Rs 15 lakh from two shopkeepers for taking possession of the disputed property. Threatened to kill for not giving money. Tehsil police have registered a case on the complaint of Mohammad Safar Haider Ali (57), resident of Lodhipura and Asad Ali Hifazat Hussain (53), resident of Sadiqabad Colony, Mankapur. After registering a total of 5 cases, there is a possibility of MPDA being imposed against Haris and Jain.
Safar Mujeeb Footwear and Asad Crown run a watch repairing shop in Mominpura’s Bhagvaghar Compound. Both the shops are running here for many years. The Rangoonwala family wanted to get both the shops vacated. Because of this there was a dispute with Asad and Safar. Whose complaint was made to Tehsil police. Apart from this, the case is also registered in the court. On December 7, Arif, Haris and Jain Rangoonwala went to Asad’s shop. Threatened to report to the police station. Asked to vacate the shop immediately. Instead of not vacating the shop, a ransom of Rs 15 lakh was demanded.
Threatened to shoot with a pistol if money was not received. Similarly, on the night of 30 December, the accused also threatened Safar. A demand of Rs 15 lakh was also made from him. Both have now complained to the police. Police have registered a case under various sections including demanding ransom and threatening to kill. Haris and Jain are already in police custody. Police is preparing to impose MPDA against him.
