Amidst Nitish Kumar’s repeated denial of PM’s claim and advocating for the promotion of youth like Tejashwi Yadav, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Shivanand Tiwari has said that in 2025, Nitish Kumar should open the Ashram by making Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav as the Chief Minister. On this, JDU leader Upendra Kushwaha has retaliated and said that the public wants Nitish Kumar at the peak of power and he is not opening any ashram. Kushwaha has given advice to Shivanand Tiwari that if he needs him, he should find some other ashram. Opening an ashram in common life is taken to mean retirement and in the case of Nitish Kumar, saying so can prove to be harmful to the political health of Shivanand Tiwari.
In the presence of party president Lalu Yadav in the state convention of RJD, Shivanand Tiwari said that Nitish Kumar had said that we will open the ashram and arrange for training of political workers there. Tiwari said that we would like to remind Nitish that the person opening the ashram will remember, make Tejashwi the chief minister in 2025 and then open the ashram, we will also stay in that ashram. Clearly neither Lalu nor Tejashwi Yadav will support this statement of Tiwari because Nitish is very active about opposition unity in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and is meeting opposition leaders across the country. There is speculation about Nitish Kumar contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Phulpur or Mirzapur in UP.

Reacting sharply to the statement of Shivanand Tiwari, JDU Parliamentary Board President Upendra Kushwaha said – “Baba, Nitish Kumar ji is not going to open the ashram yet. Prayers of crores of countrymen are with him, who want Nitish ji from the top of power. Staying on high peak, keep serving the countrymen along with the people of Bihar. I think if you need, then you should look for some other ashram.”
