Cannabis Farming In Himachal Pradesh: The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) on Tuesday destroyed the illegal cannabis cultivation spread over 12 thousand 900 bighas area after a two-week operation. Illegal cultivation of cannabis was taking place in 23 villages of Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh.

The Central Bureau of Narcotics conducted the operation in collaboration with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), in which four teams were formed. The special thing is that the team caught this farming with the help of GPS and drones from a height of 11 thousand feet. Let us tell you that there were reports of such farming on a large scale in Himachal.

Big cases being caught with the help of technology

In February and March this year, the bureau also destroyed illegal cannabis crops spread over an area of ​​3,600 hectares in Arunachal Pradesh. Officials said that with the help of technology, the work has become much easier. He told that further such campaigns will be intensified.

What are the rules regarding cultivation of cannabis in India

Cultivation of cannabis is prohibited in India under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985. Although under this act, state governments can cultivate hemp for economic purposes, but permission will have to be taken for this. A license has to be taken for the cultivation of hemp in the country, for which one thousand rupees has to be paid per hectare. If the rules are violated, the crop is destroyed.
