Scientists at Central Goat Research Institute, Farah, Mathura have succeeded in giving birth to goat kid (male lamb) through artificial insemination by laparoscope technique using frozen semen in goat. Scientists of the institute claim that this is the first such success. The lamb and the goat that gave birth to it are completely healthy. Scientists say that this technique will lead to development in goat farming.

Agricultural Research Council’s scientist Pushpendra Sharma said that Siemens insemination was done in goat on July 6, 2022 with laparoscope technique. The goat gave birth to a lamb on December 2. This experiment was done successfully. The male lamb born in the month of December has been named ‘Ajayash’ by the institute director Dr. Manish Kumar Chetley.

Project in-charge Dr. Yogesh Kumar Soni told that artificial insemination technique by telescope technique is a new method used in sheep and goats. By this, along with high pregnancy rate, semen of high quality male goats can be used more and more. This will make goat rearing even more prosperous. The director of the institute Dr. Manish Kumar appreciated the scientists. Dr. SD Kharche, Dr. Yogesh Kumar Soni, Dr. SP Singh, Dr. Ravi Ranjan and Dr. R Purushotman were included in the research team.
