During the 2016 T20 World Cup, a match was played between India and Australia on this ground, which Virat won on his own.

After this, Virat, first with Yuvraj Singh and then captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, had led India to victory. Virat had faced 51 balls and hit nine fours and two sixes.
