Chandigarh University Video Leak: There is an uproar over the MMS scandal in the University of Mohali in Punjab. The government has formed an SIT for investigation. Three accused have also been arrested. Apart from the girl accused of making MMS, two youths have been arrested from Himachal Pradesh.
Today these three arrested accused were brought from Mohali to Kharar Court where the court sent these accused on police remand for one week. However, the students are not satisfied with this action and are still protesting. At the same time, the university has taken a day off in view of the deteriorating situation.
Police constituted SIT
On Monday, the Punjab Police has constituted a three-member SIT to investigate the allegations of making objectionable videos of several girl students in the toilets of Chandigarh University. All the members of this SIT are women. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav says that the SIT will investigate the matter thoroughly and none of the guilty involved will be spared.
What is the police saying?
The Punjab Police said that the student who made the video appears to have shared only her own video with her boyfriend and has not found any other video of any other student.
The alleged lover of the girl was arrested from Himachal Pradesh. Apart from this, another 31-year-old man was arrested. Police said that the three accused will be produced in a Mohali court on Monday.
What is the university saying?
Chandigarh University said in one of its tweets that it stands with its students. The university said that we have always stood by our students, whether it is their educational needs or security welfare, we will leave no stone unturned for the safety of our students.
