On the first day the youth of Kasganj and Lalitpur districts raced to become Agniveers. After 12 o’clock late in the night, the youth were given entry to the recruitment site. The recruitment process started from early morning. 7,129 candidates from both the districts had registered to appear on the first day. Of these, 5,170 candidates appeared while 1,959 candidates did not appear. There was tremendous enthusiasm from the youth for general duty and technical trades in the recruitment being done under the Agneepath scheme. Apart from the police-administration regarding recruitment, the army has made elaborate arrangements.
The Army Recruitment Rally was led by SSP Prabhakar Choudhary and heavily supported by Brigadier Rajneesh Mohan, Station Commander, Agra Cantt. The civil administration made necessary administrative arrangements for the candidates attending the rally. Arrangements for mobile toilets, drinking water and buses for commuting the candidates are included. Measures have also been taken for crowd control.
Before the commencement of the recruitment, the candidates were cautioned to avoid adopting unfair means, bringing fake documents, being misled by touts and tampering with the admit card.
The candidates were told that in case of violation of the rules, their candidature would be canceled for future army recruitment. will be debarred from the examination.
A comprehensive outreach program on Agneepath scheme covering eligibility and other criteria was also conducted by Army Recruiting Office before the commencement of recruitment.
