Aston Villa registered their second English Premier League win of the season thanks to a goal (41′) from Jacob Ramsey against touring Southampton at Villa Park on Friday. The win helped ease the pressure on struggling Villa manager Steven Gerrard, who has overseen a poor start to the season – four losses and a draw before the game. Both teams now have seven points each, but are one notch above Sant Villa due to more goalscoring.
