Another illegal construction was also to be demolished, but the builder cited the stay of the High Court, on which the ASI officials have given him two days to show papers, permission and stay order. Superintending archaeologist Dr. Rajkumar Patel told that any kind of illegal construction near the Taj Mahal will be demolished in the same way. Demolition orders had been issued against these buildings by the Director General before the year 2018.

Municipal Corporation removed 55 encroachments

On Friday, the enforcement team of the Municipal Corporation removed encroachments in the Kotwali, fountain, apple market and Kashmiri market located in the Chhata zone. Action was taken against the banned polythene and coal-burning furnaces in restaurants.

The enforcement team removed 11 illegal pucca ramps and 44 temporary hand-pumps from the streets of the old city. 3.2 kg of banned plastic glasses were seized. A fine of Rs 22 thousand was collected for getting plastic from shopkeepers, Rs 62 thousand for encroachment and Rs 50,000 for burning furnace with coal. The team of the corporation collected a fine of Rs 1.34 lakh and deposited it in the corporation fund. Colonel AK Singh, Under Engineer Amit Sonar, Sanitary Inspector Ashutosh Verma were present in the action.
