‘AAP’ MLA Amanatullah Khan arrested, cash worth lakhs and illegal weapons found in ACB raid A to Z Counsel

The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of the Delhi government has arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan after nearly eight hours of interrogation. ACB has arrested AAP MLA on the basis of recovery of incriminating material and evidence against him during raids today in Delhi Waqf Board corruption case.

According to the information, a case was registered against the ‘AAP’ MLA in the year 2020, whose FIR number is 5/2020. Against him is Section 7/13 PC Act 1988 (amended 2018), Section 409 and 120B IPC Police Station ACB. ACB officials said that the evidence recovered in today’s raid, including their incriminating documents, are related to this case.

ACB today raided the house of Amanatullah Khan and his other hideouts and recovered lakhs of rupees in cash and an unlicensed weapon. ACB is probing alleged irregularities in recruitment in Delhi Waqf Board. The ACB had on Thursday issued notice to Khan for questioning in the two-year-old corruption case.

Amanatullah Khan, MLA from Okhla region, was called for questioning at 12 noon on Friday in a case registered in 2020 under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Delhi Waqf Board chairman Khan had tweeted about the notice and claimed that he has been summoned as he has set up a new Waqf Board office.

On Friday, raids were conducted at Khan and his other locations, the official said. He said that cash worth Rs 12 lakh, an unlicensed weapon and some cartridges were seized from one place.
