Vice President Of India: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar on Sunday said that a strong, fair and independent justice system is the surest guarantee for democratic values to flourish. Addressing the Justice JS Verma Memorial Lecture Series in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, the Vice President said that everyone in the country needs to understand that no one is above the law.
Dhankhar said that everyone in the country needs to understand that no one is above the law. People in power and high positions need to take cognizance of this in the larger public interest and take forward the democratic system.
Why will Justice JS Verma be remembered?
The Vice President said that Justice JS Verma is a role model in the judicial system of the country and the decisions given by him in many sensitive matters reflect his thinking. The Vice President said that Justice Verma will always be remembered for his path-breaking decisions and thoughts and his life and thoughts will continue to inspire us and our future generations.
He said that the nature of judicial thinking of Justice Verma has created new dimensions and many paradigms. In another program Dhankhar said that he is feeling proud to find himself in Jabalpur, the sacrifice land of Amar Shaheed Raja Shankar Shah and Kunwar Raghunath Shah.
‘Country changing’
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said that he will never forget the sacrifice day of Raja Shankar Shah and Kunwar Raghunath Shah. He said that for the first time in the Amrit Mahotsav of freedom, a woman from the tribal class was seated on the highest post of the country, it shows that the country is changing.
